No other region can surpass New England in football tradition. This fact is explored in great detail in an exhibit honoring those that created and excelled at the game, including a 10-minute film on the origins of football in New England, created by NFL Films. Football started on the Boston Common fields and evolved in the Ivy League. The signature artifact in this exhibit is a 1932 Providence Steam Roller uniform on loan to The Hall from The Pyne family of Milford, Mass. The 1928 Steam Roller was the first New England team to win an NFL championship. The Wall of Champions within the exhibit honors the region’s champions by displaying the jerseys of every reigning high school championship team in New England. The exhibit also includes three touch screen kiosks that display state-by-state New England football history.
