Former Patriots place-kicker and Super Bowl hero Adam Vinatieri made two Pro Bowl appearance while kicking in New England. His performance during the Patriots 2004 Super Bowl championship season earned him his second Pro Bowl selection.
Vinatieri converted 31-of-33 field goals in 2004 for a Patriots career best 93.9 made field goal percentage. He was an impressive 11-for-12 from 40-49 yards and scored his Patriots career best 141 points.
He nailed four field goals in 40-22 win in St. Louis, including two from 40-plus yards while also throwing a touchdown pass to Troy Brown on a fake field goal in that game. He connected on five a field goals a week later in a 29-6 win over Buffalo.
In 2004, Vinatieri converted his seven field goals before missing from 47 yards. He then made his next 23 tries before missing from 50. He was then a perfect 5-for-5 during the Patriot postseason run that ended in a Super Bowl XXXIX Championship.
