The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon is proud to display numerous game-used artifacts from the Patriots thrilling overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. One the newest editions to that collection is Patriots wide reciever Julian Edelman's game-worn helmet.
During the game Edelman made 5 receptions for a total 87 yards and worked to make them count. In the fourth quarter of the game as the Patriots attempted to overcome a 25-point deficit, Tom Brady threw a 23-yard pass to Edelman. During the play Atlanta’s Robert Alford tipped the pass in the air forcing Edelman to lunge between three Falcons defenders in order to snatch the ball only one inch from the ground and complete the pass. The catch put the Patriots in Atlanta territory and helped set them up to end their drive with a touchdown and two-point conversion that tied the game at 28-28. The Patriots went on to win in overtime, 34-28.
